Well, we thought that Palmer Gold was a wet one, however this game was arguably even wetter. Thankfully it did
not rain during play.

At 1.00pm Saturday it was golf as “usual”, only to be told later that day that it was carts on paths & bunkers were
GUR. Then the heavens really opened up dumping 110mm (4 inches for us oldies) overnight. No doubt we all spent a
lot of time in the next coupe of days drying out & cleaning all our gear.
The winning team for the Captains V Presidents event was announced. For the third year in a row the captain’s team
was successful. It was a tight affair with the final score being 9 matches to 6. There were two halved matches &
another seven came down to the last hole. Congratulations to the winners.

After a 2 year wait Darren Jones has finally shed his two best games ever & graduated back into B grade.
Unfortunately, he had to leave early today, catching a flight to NZ to be with his seriously ill brother.
Stu Blyth returned after 3 months off, to hit the ground running with an impressive net 69 to win A Grade.
This score was matched by Tony Kemp in winning B grade. This was his best round for 3 years. Back on the horse.
John Benbow had his 2 nd Best game since joining the club. John McGuinness had his third top 8 score in a row,
narrowly missing out on the podium on countback.
The Bell family certainly had a mixed day, with Robert all smiles on his return & could not wait to tell me he
improved by 20% over his last effort, that is 20 shots less. Math is easy when you’re working with a 100. He had a
belly laugh when he heard that the NAGA award was staying in the family, with Matthew shooting his 2 nd worst score
since joining.
Had a good talk with Peter Zerbe who is still down in Melbourne dealing with some family health issues. He is hoping
to be up the Goldie for the May game.
